Welcome to AccumulationZone!

I'm a NYC student passionate about STEM, especially geophysics, glaciology, and earth science. AccumulationZone is a space to explore, analyze, and share knowledge on the dynamic processes that shape our planet.

The name 'AccumulationZone' is a nod to glaciers, referring to the region where snow gathers and compacts into ice. The accumulation zone is an indicator of glacier health; a glacier is in balance if the surface accumulation offsets the ice lost through melting. Similarly, this blog aims to accumulate ideas, break down complex topics, and make them accessible to anyone interested in building their understanding of climate science and creating sustainable solutions for climate resilience. Through shared, accumulated knowledge, I believe we can inspire action to offset climate change.

In AccumulationZone’s weekly posts, I provide updates on climate news and research while also delving deeper into the scientific foundations of these recent discoveries. Posts adhere to a consistent, easy-to-follow format:

Breaking the Ice: A summary of new research insights and/or climate headlines to provide essential context.

Quick Melt: A discussion on the implications and broader significance of the topic.

The Thaw: A deeper dive into the underlying scientific concepts, giving readers key foundational knowledge, regardless of their pre-existing domain knowledge/background.

Whether you're a student, science enthusiast, climate advocate, or curious Earthling, AccumulationZone aims to keep you informed and ice-spired.
